General

Windows 10® 64-bit, Windows 11® 64-bit. (WARNING: The installation on virtual machines is not certificated).

Processor:
2.2 GHz or faster (recommended almost 2.5 GHz) 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor (recommended 64-bit).

RAM:
Minimum 4 GB ram (recommended 8 GB ram ).

VIDEO CARD:
For optimum performance, it is recommended to use machines with a dedicated video card nVidia or AMD (recommended nVidia Geforce) - (progeCAD WARNING: Artisan Render module doesn't support AMD Graphic Cards).

GreenCAD: Install and activate on the new computer. The existing computer will be automatically deactivated.

progeCAD: Uninstall the application from the old computer before installing on the new computer. Once installed on the new computer, register and activate the application.

Uninstall the existing GreenCAD version and install the latest GreenCAD version. Register and activate the new installation with your existing license key.

Licensing

Yes, both GreenCAD and progeCAD licenses are perpetual licenses. This means:

  • (a) You pay a one-time fee and may use the specific version you purchased indefinitely.
  • (b) The license has no expiry date and requires no recurring annual fees or subscriptions.
  • (c) The licensed software version will run for as long as your hardware and operating system support it.
  • (d) You are not obliged to purchase upgrades to newer versions.

As stated in the GreenCAD and progeCAD license agreement, it is a perpetual license. Hence:

  • (a) No renewal fees or annual fees are required.
  • (b) The license is a one-time payment.
  • (c) The GreenCAD and progeCAD license DOES NOT have an expiry date.

No. A perpetual license grants you the right to use the specific version you purchased at the time of purchase/activation. It does NOT include free upgrades to future major versions.

  • (a) Your license remains valid for the version you purchased (e.g., GreenCAD 2027 or progeCAD 2027) for as long as your hardware and operating system support it.
  • (b) Updates (minor patches, bug fixes) may be provided at no additional cost.
  • (c) Upgrades (new major versions, e.g., from 2027 to 2028) are not included and require an additional purchase.
  • (d) You may be offered discounted upgrade pricing, but this is not guaranteed and is at the developer's discretion.

In short: you own the version you bought forever, but if you want the next major version, you pay for it.

Transfer: Licenses may be transferred to another party only with the prior written consent of the software developer, as stated in the EULA (§2.c). Please contact us if you wish to request a license transfer.

Resale: Licenses cannot be resold. Once a license is purchased and activated for a particular company or person, it belongs to that entity and may not be re-sold.

30-Day Trial: You can download and install the 30-day fully working trial version from our website to evaluate the software before purchase.

After Purchase: Once you purchase a license, you will receive a unique serial key via email. You can activate your trial installation using this serial key to unlock the full commercial version.

New Installation: If you are installing the software for the first time after purchase, you can enter the serial key during installation or activation.

Technical

This depends on the font. The opened drawing makes use of AutoCAD fonts. Anyone in possession of a regular AutoCAD license can also use the fonts supplied with AutoCAD in the progeCAD program along with the numerous fonts already available in progeCAD.

Just open the Tools > Options menu and access the Path/File tab > Support paths sub-menu. Double click Fonts and add the fonts installation path. For ex.: C:\Program Files\AutoCAD R14\Fonts.

For the 2000 version of AutoCAD the simplex font can be found in Support directory. You can add this path too (For ex.: C:\AutoCAD LT 2000\Fonts;C:\AutoCAD LT 2000\Support) or copy this font to the folder Fonts of AutoCAD 2000.

This guarantees a perfect display of any project using the simplex.shx font.

Where:
01. An error message is displayed and the drawing is not opened.
02. An error message is not displayed but the drawing won't open.
03. It began the loading of the drawing but after the operation is completed or before it progeCAD ® goes wrong.

In all these cases, the file may be corrupted, so recovery is needed:

-- Start CAD application
-- From the File > Utility menu choose "Recover"
-- Select the damaged files and confirm
-- After the procedure so that the operations take effect on the drawing it is necessary to save it.

It is recommended that you use the "Save as" command assigning another name to the recovered file to avoid losing in this way any definitive information that was not recovered.

Use e-Transmit to send drawings to printers for printing. It Collects related files and packages them together for transfer to another computer. Packages can include one or more drawings and their related external references and fonts. Each package can be either a self-extracting .exe file, a .zip file, or a new folder that contains all of the files.

Where:
The drawing is open, but some of its details are not present In this case, the file may be corrupted, so it requires recovery:
-- Start CAD application
-- From the File > Utility menu choose "Recover"
-- Select the damaged file and confirm
-- After the procedure it is necessary to save the drawing for the operation to take effect on it.

It is recommended that you use the "Save as" command assigning another name to the recovered file to avoid losing any crucial information that was not recovered.

The reason could be that the drawing from which you are copying your entities has been closed.
-- Make sure the file from which you are copying your entities is still open.
-- If it is closed: open the source file, select the entities to be copied using the "Copy" or "Copy with base point" commands from the Edit menu
-- Open or switch to the destination drawing keeping the source drawing open, go to the Edit menu and choose the "Paste" or "Paste to original coordinate" commands.

NOTE
The right way to copy is always by using the "Copy" command from the Edit menu.

The "LTSCALE" variable must have been set to a different value. Check the value of the "LTSCALE" variable in the drawing of origin by typing on the command bar "LTSCALE" and pressing "ENTER" Move to the destination drawing and repeat the operation described above. If the value of the variable in the destination drawing is different, change it by typing on the command bar the correct value.
